I am a proud mother of 5, nontraditional student. I am perusing a double major in both Business Administration AS-T and Social and Behavioral Science-AA. I am currently dually enrolled at MSJC and Bellevue University. The scholarship money will be used to help pay for school-related expenses such as books, supplies, transportation etc. as I am no longer receiving financial aid.
My name is Elizabeth Anne Martinez. I am 21 years old just recently graduated from Mt. San Jacinto Community College Spring 2016 with an Associate's Degree in Administration of Justice and an Associate Degree in Social & Behavioral Sciences. I am transferring to the University of Irvine this Fall of 2016 where I will be studying and majoring in Criminology. By being awarded the San Jacinto Valley Women's Scholarship I am so honored to be a possible role model for those younger than me who have aspirations to go to college. I struggled with financial issues throughout my college career but that does not mean it is not possible to achieve your goals and I am here to prove that. With this scholarship, it helps me to be financially secure in buying college essentials such as books, supplies, and other miscellaneous items that are needed for school. I am very proud to have come so far and this scholarship just means so much to me and my family. Now I am excited to start my future with UCI. Go anteaters! Zot. Zot. Zot!
My name is Kimberly Sawyer. I am a full-time student at Mt. San Jacinto College. I am on the President’s Honor Roll and I have a 4.0 GPA. Because of the generous scholarship that was provided, I will be able to continue my education and provide for my daughter and myself. I am a single mother of a beautiful special needs 2-year-old, named Grace-Lynn. I myself have autism, and I have overcome so much in my life, your organization has lifted so many burdens off of my shoulders, and has allowed me to focus on my daughter and my education. I plan to continue on my path towards my Bachelors of Social Behavioral Science, Masters of Psychology, and PhD. in Special Education.
Arianna Vargas -
I would first like to thank you for graciously choosing me as a scholarship recipient. Starting this fall, I will be attending the University of California Riverside (UCR) to major in Medical Biology. As a pre-dental student, I have been preparing my dental school applications and will be using my scholarship to help cover the expenses of my applications. Throughout this summer I have been proactive in preparing myself not only for my fall term classes at UCR but also for the Dental Admission Test that I will be taking next June. With everything coming together I am so thankful to have support from my family and valuable community leaders such as yourselves. By shadowing my mentor, who is a Dentist that specializes as an endodontist,
I have had the opportunity to understand what it means to give back to one’s community which is exactly what I intend to do with my work. Once again thank you for helping me in my journey in academia.
